Combating Terrorism (CbT) Technology Demonstration 2007 (Europe)
The Combating Terrorism Technology Demonstration 2007 (CbT Demo) represents a key event in operationalising the NATO Counter-terrorism Technology Development Programme (NCTDP) initiative and process. In particular, the CbT Technology Demo aims to augment the work of the Defence Against Terrorism Programme of Work (DAT PoW) by identifying and demonstrating cutting-edge, alternative technologies against real-life operational scenarios. By leveraging Concept and Scenario Development work by Allied Command Transformation (ACT), the CbT Demo will provide a distinctive 'live' forum for the Alliance military, Armaments, Industry and Research & Technology communities to synchronise and strengthen their work along an integrated and focused operational concept. The demonstration is a NATO-event which will be conducted in close coordination with the US Technical Support Working Group (TSWG), the Host Nation and the International Institute for Homeland Security, Defence and Restoration.
Please refer to this website for further details on the CbT Technology Demo. For additional information at this time, please contact James Kren (NATO IS-DI), also given under contact tab. The planning for CbT Tech Demo is continuing.

Background
Force Protection Equipment Demos (FPED) have been held by the US DoD for a number of years. CTD 2007 Europe has similar but NATO-wide aims. The objective of these demonstrations is to provide leaders and decision-makers the opportunity to observe and become familiar with Counter-Terrorism and Force Protection equipment available for procurement and "suitability for operational use testing" within 90 -180 days of the demonstration.
The last US FPED (FPED V) was held during 26-28 April 2005 at Quantico Marine Corps Base. Further information about this FPED V may be obtained from http://www.fped5.org.
The next US FPED (FPED VI) will be held on 14-16 August 2007 at the Stafford Regional Airport, Stafford, Virginia. Further information about this FPED VI may be obtained from http://www.fped6.org.
